​On the occasion of the İnternational Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis and the “Year of Shusha”, an event took place in Vienna on December 19th.

The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Academic Union and supported by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.

First, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Austria - Rovshan Sadigbeyli opened the event with his opening speech and said that every year our people celebrate the İnternational Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis around the world with great solemnity and pride.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Academic Union - Kamal Akbarov in his speech emphasized the activities of the institution he heads in the past year and mentioned the projects planned for the coming period.

At the end,  young Azerbaijani musicians living in Austria – Ayan Mammadli (piano), Abuzar Manafzadeh (piano) and Orkhan Jalilov (vocals) performed the works of Azerbaijani composers and folk songs.
